Michael O. Sellinger, P.E.
President
Sellinger Associates, Inc. (SAI) was established in January 1996, with the goal of creating a firm that provides exceptional Mechanical design solutions. His determination and exemplary work habits served him well in achieving what he set out to do.
After a quarter century at the helm of the firm, he’s proud of the projects that SAI has
completed; the hard working staff that have supported and contributed to the company’s
success and the clients who have entrusted SAI to provide expertly engineered mechanical systems.
With over 30 years’ experience in the building industry, Mike has seen and resolved a plethora of issues, working on a broad range of projects in the Metro Detroit area and nationally.
As President of Sellinger Associates, Michael oversees all project management, client relations and administration. Mike is a Qualified Commissioning Authority, with over ten years’ experience in the commissioning process.
Steven J. Benaske, P.E.
Senior Engineer
Steve Benaske has been with Sellinger Associates since 1999 and has been a leader in
the firm ever since. His intelligence and “get it done” attitude has carried our team in countless ways. He’s a teacher; a mentor; a coach and a doer. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and has an easy rapport with clients. With over 25 years’ experience in mechanical systems design, Steve has worked on a wide range of projects including:

As Senior Engineer of SAI, Steve oversees project management; system evaluation; design development and equipment selection. Steve is an integral part of SAI, working closely with clients and committed to project excellence.
Naum Popovski
Mechanical Engineer
Naum Popovski graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Naum brings over 18 years’ experience designing mechanical systems for the building construction industry.
He joined Sellinger Associates in 2003 and has contributed immensely to the overall success and integrity of the firm. Naum is a Certified Commissioning Authority with vast experience in the commissioning process.
His project experience includes designs for:

As an Engineer with SAI, Naum’s responsibilities include system evaluation; project design/layout; development of project specifications; selection of equipment; proposal writing and interface with clients.
José Cabello
Mechanical Enigineer
José Cabello joined the team of Sellinger Associates in 2015, bringing with him an inquisitive mind and enthusiasm for engineering. He has grown exponentially and developed his skills and understanding of the mechanical design process, culminating in a thorough knowledge base and expertise in 3D Modeling. With over 8 years of experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems design, he is our in-house 3D expert. Jose’s contribution to SAI is huge!
As a Mechanical Engineer with the firm, José s responsibilities include system evaluation; project design/layout; 2D AutoCAD, 3D Revit and 3D BIM coordination and clash detection; selection of equipment; and client interaction.

Benny Disney
Mechanical Designer
Bennie joined Sellinger Associates, Inc. in 2013, bringing with him 28 years of experience in the consulting world. He began his career in 1985, working for various M/E firms in the Detroit area as a draftsman, becoming fluent in AutoCad and now designing Mechanical systems for SAI.
He is the first person that Mike Sellinger met when he began his career as an engineer and their appreciation for one another is a unique aspect of the team.
